On October 2, 2017 the Rivers Edge Veterans Association (REVA) visited the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC to deliver personal hygiene items donated by Rivers Edge residents. Items collected are used to fill “Comfort Kits” for incoming and residents male and female patients. Hygiene items included; shampoo, razors, soap, deodorants, combs, brushes, etc. Total amount of hygiene items donated equaled 114 pounds with a value of approximately $1500!! Twelve REVA members and three spouses made the visit to the Medical Center. In addition to the delivering the hygiene items, the REVA members spent time with the patients playing bingo and sharing stories. Members making the trip to Fayetteville were; Harry Hartsell, Harold Nelson, Richard Raad, Dale Bergstrom, Amber Carlson, Bob Carlson, Nick Micale, Dave Bass, Jim Carmody, Larry Shapiro, Ron Johnson, and Kurt Reynolds. Spouses were; Betsy Bergstrom, Leslie Hartsell and Sally Johnson.
